Try our participatory web app prototype!

Remember our web app prototype? We’ve made improvements so now it can finally be used as a participatory pin-up of augmented reality (AR) design ideas in public space.

Start a participatory urban design or placemaking project

With this Metvibee web app, you can start a project and share the link for people to participate and co-create designs.

Everyone can create pins and write some ideas, and in addition go into our simple AR drawing tool to pin a graphic idea on the map.

As an admin, you can view and edit all pins in your admin panel. Co-creators will be able to add and edit their own pins within the browser session.

You can access the demo at https://app.metvibee.com/editor/map.htm?course=demo-april-2025 .

Upcoming planned improvements

  • Drawing on street view (to enable remote participation)
  • Upload photos (e.g. screencap from the Unity AR app and upload to the web app to pin it)
  • Making the user experience smoother
  • Recording voice on pins
  • Exporting all pins and designs of a project from the admin panel
  • Importing 3D models in the form of glTF files (challenge: AR.js is slow in rendering large 3D models)

Stay tuned to our Unity AR app as we welcome our new tech team

As you’d know, we also have an awesome Unity AR app available for download, and this will be further developed once we build and expand our tech team with XR and game development expertise.

Meanwhile, our rudimentary web app will be, for the near future, a quick way for you to connect with us and co-create urban visions.

Our proposed pricing table applies to the future Unity-powered Metvibee AR platform; we’ll update more on our interim pricing with the web app.

Our greatest technical challenges, in the meantime, are our limited technical expertise and infrastructure. If you’d like to work together with us to co-create creative urban futures, please reach out to us.

Reach out to us if you’d like to use our web app in pilot projects with participatory design! 🙂
